How To Ace The Online Application
It’s easier than you think!
I recently resigned from a position working in talent acquisition. I quickly realized that I utilized many of the skills I gained working in Customer Service and fact-checking for thirty years. Attention to detail was one of my most important skills.
One of my tasks was to hire people for entry-level positions. The company I worked for asked applicants to complete an online application and an online recorded interview.
I would review the applications looking for specific answers to certain questions. That’s when the attention to detail came in. Anyone who could not meet certain parameters was rejected.
I doubt this company was unique in its inclusion of an online application. With that in mind, I’ve come up with some tips for anyone completing an online application.
1. Availability.
I rejected most applicants due to this question. Businesses want open availability. Some businesses may offer different schedule options, but the more open your schedule, the better. Do your research, either online or call the business, and ask about the hours of operation.
